Privacy / Analytics

What this
site knows.

Short version: how many people read a page, and roughly how far down. Not who they are.

Analytics run on my own server. Nothing is sent to Google, and no advertising network is involved. There is no tracking cookie, so there is nothing here to opt out of except the one thing below.

Counted, and not counted

What is recorded

  • The page you opened
  • Where you arrived from
  • Country, browser, device type
  • How far down an article you read
  • Links you click that lead off this site
  • What you type into this site's own search

What is not

  • Your name, email or account
  • Your IP address, stored
  • A cookie or any identifier that follows you
  • Anything you type into the contact form, until you send it
  • Anything at all across other websites
Optional

Session replay

Replay records how a page is used — scrolling, clicks, movement — so I can see where a layout fails rather than guess. It is the only thing here that needs permission, and it is off until you give it.

Turn it on or off any time: change your answer →

Anything else?

The contact form stores what you send it, and nothing else. It does not email anyone, and the message is not shared.
